The Emerging Opportunities In Prudent Secrets In Ouabain

This article discusses the various causes, symptoms, and treatment options available for congestive heart failure in the elderly. Acute de compensated congestive heart failure is a serious condition that generally causes acute respiratory distress. Scroll down to find out what causes heart failure to de compensate and how it can be treated. What is diastolic heart failure? A systolic heart failure can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated on time. Congestive heart failure is no data the condition, where the heart fails to pump enough blood to the cells and tissues of the body. A BP test helps diagnose congestive heart failure. This write-up provides... The average age of an individual suffering from heart disorders and congestive heart failure is going lower and lower. Because it is assumed that heart failure is less common in women than in men, its symptoms are often overlooked in women. Stage 4 Congestive Heart Failure Congestive heart failure is a condition that is characterized by the heart's inability to pump enough blood and supply it to the various parts of the body. In the absence of timely diagnosis and treatment, this heart-related disorder can turn life-threatening and even prove to... This article on heart failure symptoms and its treatment, will definitely help you identify the signs and symptoms that are likely to occur... The following guzzle article elaborates more on the symptoms of this heart problem.

Researchers Identify New Pathway Linking the Brain to High Blood Pressure

Working with an animal model of hypertension, Dr. Hamlyn and Dr. Mordecai Blaustein, professor of physiology and medicine at the UM SOM, and their research partner, Dr. Leenen, found a new link between the brain and increased blood pressure, namely, a little-known steroid called ouabain (pronounced WAH-bane). Ouabain was discovered in human blood more than 20 years ago by Dr. Hamlyn and Dr. Blaustein, along with scientists at the Upjohn Company. The new study is the first to identify the particular pathway that connects the brain to ouabains effects on proteins that regulate arterial calcium and contraction. Through this mechanism, ouabain makes arteries more sensitive to sympathetic stimulation, and as a result the enhanced artery constriction promotes chronic hypertension.

Some Studies Have Indicated That Congestive Heart Failure Is Worse Than Most Other Life-threatening Diseases Such As Cancer.

Hospitall_Expansion_Cardiac_Cath_Lab_CABG RESULTS:The patients were divided into two groups according to the angiographic collateral finding. There were no differences in RSSI on thallium-glucose-insulin SPECT and regional wall motion score between the good collateral group (n = 8) and poor collateral group (n = 22). Myocardial Tc-99m-tetrofosmin RSSI was similar in these groups. On the other hand, the patients were divided according to Tc-99m-tetrofosmin scintigraphic evaluation before PCI. RSSI on thallium-glucose-insulin SPECT was significantly greater (0.7 +/- 0.5 vs 1.5 +/- 0.4, p < 0.01) and regional wall motion score was significantly less (1.46 +/- 0.50 vs 2.08 +/- 0.78, p < 0.05) in the lower Tc-99m-tetrofosmin RSSI (< 1.9) group (n = 22) compared with the higher RSSI (> or = 1.9) group (n = 8). In addition, a significant correlation was obtained between Tc-99 m-tetrofosmin RSSI and regional wall motion score index (r = 0.53, p < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS:The collateral flow evaluated by scintigraphy was significantly correlated with myocardial viability. Dog Lab Circulation. 1976 Mar;53(3 Suppl):I57-62. Influence of collateral flow on the ischemic tolerance of the heart following acute and subacute coronary occlusion. Schaper W, Pasyk S.
